Why invest a Personal Trainer?

There is absolutely no shortage of health and fitness information online. From fitness influencers to social media workouts, it can be overwhelming and seem like you should be able to do it all on your own.
However, knowing what to do and how to do it safely and effectively are two very different things.
Investing in a personal trainer is about investing in your health, your confidence as well as your long-term success in the fitness game.
Expert guidance with results
One of the biggest advantages of working with a personal trainer is having a program designed specifically for you and your individual needs. A personal trainer will take into account your goals, your current fitness level, lifestyle, any niggles or injuries/limitations and your health history. This ensures everything is tailored to you and every workout/training session has a purpose.
Learn proper technique and prevent injuries
Executing exercises correctly plays a massive role in not only your results but also in reducing your risk of injury. Even minor tweaks to your posture and lifting technique can make a huge difference to both safety and performance.
Accountability
You may have heard the saying “Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing” – John C Maxwell. Accountability plays a vital role in our ability to stay disciplined.
Life gets busy for all of us. Having a scheduled session with a personal trainer creates accountability. Knowing someone is expecting you to show up provides that extra push that we all need at times in order to stay committed to achieving our health and fitness goals. Likewise having a customised program to complete outside of your personal training session helps you to remain accountable to your goals and consistent.
Consistency is one of the biggest factors in health and fitness success. Accountability helps make consistency a habit.
Education
A great personal trainer doesn’t just teach you how to do something, they teach you why you are a doing it.
From exercise selection, to nutrition, to recovery, to how to set goals and healthy habits to last a lifetime, a great personal trainer has your back. Overtime you will start developing not just the knowledge but the confidence to make informed decisions about your own fitness journey.
So, is it worth it?
A personal trainer may seem like a luxury, however many people discover that it is in fact one the best investments they have made – myself included. From the ages of 21 to 29 I had a few different personal trainers and to this day am still so happy that I chose to make that investment. I simply would not be the person I am today, career aside, without it.
